Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we often might win, by fearing to attempt.
--Jane Addams

I have learned over the years that when one's mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done does away with fear.
--Rosa Parks

God is our refuge and strength,a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea.

New Year, New Challenges

I am almost done with writing my dream novel. A few more touches here and there...then it's off to the literary agent. I've been struggling with fitting the plot into a genre. It mostly has elements of romance.

Here's the story so far:

Immigrant farmworker, Michael Tennant, recently spurned by his wife, Eulalee, returns to his small, hometown district of Bramton Hill on fictitious Morgan Island to discover that a lot has changed in the five years he has been away: the family business he had hoped to start no longer seems feasible in the changing community; his son, Courtney is now ten years old; and his soon-to-be divorced wife, Eulalee, has a new love interest -- none other than his nemesis, Baron McDonald, a wealthy businessman from the presumed 'royal family' of Bramton Hill. Undaunted, however, Michael works hard to reunite his family while managing to secure a lucrative business deal with a U.S.-based restauranteur. His pleadings for Eulalee to cancel divorce proceedings that she initiated go unheard until a devastating hurricane wreaks havoc on Morgan Island. With her rented house destroyed by the hurricane and having nowhere to turn, Eulalee reluctantly moves in with Michael. But the reunion is short-lived, because Eulalee discovers a shocking secret about Michael. It will take more than a hurricane and pleadings to put this Humpty Dumpty marriage back together again.
